There's something going on on the eastern border of Varrock and King Roald needs someone to look into it. The way to Varrock is protected from the dangers of the eastern reaches by the hard work of the monks on the shores of the River Salve. Will you take up the responsibility to make sure their critical work has not been interrupted?
Items Required
- Tinderbox
- 45 Logs of any type (2 sets of 20 and 1 set of 5)

Getting Started
- Items required: None.
Talk to King Roald at Varrock Palace to begin the quest.
Tending the First Beacon
- Items required: Tinderbox, 20 logs (must all be of same type).
Go east from Varrock and speak with Blaze Sharpeye in Silvarea near the beacon just south of the Paterdomus Temple. It is recommended to collect the 20 logs (must all be of same type) on the way.
Place 20 logs (must all be the same type) in the beacon next to Blaze Sharpeye and light it with a Tinderbox. Then talk to Blaze Sharpeye again.
Tending the Second Beacon
- Items required: Tinderbox, 20 logs (must all be of same type).
Go west from Blaze Sharpeye to the second beacon near the Odd Old Man and speak with Squire Fyre. It is recommended to collect the 20 logs (must all be of same type) on the way from the trees southwest of Squire Fyre. Place 20 logs (must all be the same type) in the beacon next to Squire Fyre and light it with a Tinderbox.
Tending the First Beacon (Again)
- Items required: 5 logs (must all be of same type).
Head back to Blaze Sharpeye and speak with him. It is recommended to collect the 5 logs (must all be of same type) from the trees just east of Blaze Sharpeye. Add 5 logs (must all be the same type) to the beacon next to Blaze Sharpeye. Then talk to Blaze Sharpeye again.
Finishing Up
- Items required: None.
Head back to Varrock Palace and speak with King Roald to complete the quest.
